We had the absolute pleasure of hosting The Vet Company here at Xscape Space as part of their Nelson conference, and what a group they were. Brilliant energy, great sports, and they were completely smitten with Neebles (our dog, who apparently had no intention of staying out of the spotlight).

OUR REVIEWS
As a big fan of escape rooms, I was keen to try one in New Zealand and happened to be passing through the area. Definitely fun and I would recommend to other fans. Some of the puzzles were really good and different to things I've seen before, but a couple felt like they were more likely to be solved by players due to luck rather than understanding. Right at the end, one mechanism didn't work which meant the gamesmaster had to come into the room and try to fix it, which detracted a little from the game.
Nonetheless, I'm sure that was just a bit of bad luck and would definitely recommend people to try it out here - the price is better than the others I saw around the South Island. If I had been in the area longer, would still have gone back to try a second room!
Had a fantastic time great place to go worth every penny also a great first date idea the convo never dies though we would of in the serial killer room well put togeather. Lovely staff too 😊

And we LOVE that you chose Xscape Space for a first date! Escape rooms are definitely a good way to find out if you’re compatible — although perhaps choosing the Serial Killer’s Lair for date number one is a little brave! 😂

We were having an amazing time until an honest mistake ruined the rest of our visit. We accidentally took a photo in the room, largely because a 'no cameras' policy was never clearly communicated to us prior to starting. Instead of a polite reminder, the staff reacted unpleasantly, treating us poorly and rushing us to finish and leave (that's how it felt to us anyway). They did try to explain afterward, but by that point, the experience was already sullied. Better communication clarifying that 'no phones' strictly means 'no photos' would have been appreciated.

We do understand that mistakes can happen, and we certainly don’t want any guest to feel uncomfortable or unwelcome. However, we would like to clarify that our no-phone and no-photography policy is communicated to all teams before entering the rooms as part of our safety briefing. There is also clear signage inside the building, next to the TVs, reminding guests that photography is not permitted.
The reason for this policy is not simply about phones. Our rooms, puzzles, clues, props and game design are original intellectual property that we have invested considerable time and money creating. Like any business, we need to protect that intellectual property so that the experience remains special for future customers.
Our staff are required to address photography when it occurs, and we’re sorry if the way this was handled left you feeling rushed or that you were being treated poorly. That was certainly not our intention. We did try to explain the reason for the policy afterwards, but we appreciate that by then the situation had affected your experience.
We’re genuinely pleased to hear that you were having an amazing time before this happened, and we’re disappointed that the misunderstanding changed how you felt about your visit. We appreciate your feedback and will continue to look for ways to make our pre-game briefing as clear as possible for every team.
Have experienced 2 different escape rooms now and enjoyed both times. Lotsa fun with friends, helpful if you don't all think the same lol. Nice friendly staff, accessible location with good parking, easy to book online. Would definitely do again, you just want to challenge yourself to do better, best way don't over think it!

We have done the spy adventure and it was we'll set up, pretty hard to solve and the team was super friendly and helpful. And we could bring our dog. Which was great.

What a blast! Haven't had such a genuine, fun time in a long time. As a family, we did the Blackbeard's Treasure escape room and it was some serious fun. Let's just say we are now PIRATES OF THE SEVEN SEAS!

Super friendly and humorous staff! We chose the 5/5 spy escape room and unfortunately couldn’t finish it but we had a blast. The rooms are perfectly furnished to make an immersive experience. Very fun short activity if you’re looking for something to do in Nelson

my boyfriend and i did the bank robbery escape room, it was so much fun, perfect amount of brain teasers and a good challenge, staff were very friendly definitely will be back to try other rooms!

Me and my family of five (kids 11-16) had such a good time we did another immediately after the first and it was just as fun!

My partner and I booked ourselves in for the serial killer escape room. We had never been to an escape room before, but we had so much fun and got great support from the hosts. Totally recommend. It was a challenging and satisfying experience.
